To approve or reject pending membership request for a Private Group, follow the steps below.

Remember, only Group Administrators can approve or reject pending request. For more information on how to change a user’s roll from their current role to an administrative role, please watch the video called How to Update a User’s Role in a Group.

There are two ways, primarily, to approve or reject users for requesting to be part of a Private Group. They are different depending on if you only want to approve/reject users into a specific Group or all Groups you are an Administrator for.

Approve/Reject Users for a Specific Group

  1. The first method is, click Groups -> My Groups.
  2. Click the Pending Members icon, to the furthest right of the Group name you’re interested in updating.
  3. Clicking that icon, and it will load a list all of the pending memberships waiting to join that specific Group.  Note that in this example, the Group Name is AP English and only AP English–this is the difference from the second method of approving or rejecting member.
  4. Finally, checkbox the boxes left the users’ names and then bulk accept or reject the users. Alternatively, click either the checkmark icon to approve a user to the Group member, or reject them by clicking the “x” icon.

Approve/Reject Users for All Groups

The second method to approve or reject users into all Groups.

  1. Click Groups -> My Group,
  2. Click the yellow “Pending Group Membership” button, which has a number next to the text.
  3. After clicking that button, a list of User Names with the corresponding Group names will load. Notice that there are two different Groups in this example.
  4. Finally, checkbox the boxes left the users’ names and then bulk accept or reject the users. Alternatively, click either the checkmark icon to approve a user to the Group member, or reject them by clicking the “x” icon.
